Responsibilities when sharing your equipment.

Last Updated: July 28, 2026
Version: 1.0

1. Ownership & Authorization

You confirm that you own the equipment you list, or have written authorization to share it, and that you may lawfully rent it out under all applicable local, state, and federal regulations.

2. Accurate Listings

You agree to describe your equipment truthfully, include accurate photos, disclose known issues, and set fair replacement values. Misrepresentation may void deposit protection.

3. Equipment Condition & Safety

You must deliver equipment in safe working condition, provide any manufacturer or operator instructions, and clearly warn renters of known hazards. Owner-operated equipment must be provided with a qualified operator.

4. Security Deposits

S.H.E.D. charges the renter a refundable security deposit at checkout, fully refunded upon the equipment being returned. You may claim against the deposit for documented damage or non-return through the Dispute Resolution process.

5. Payouts

You receive your payout after a rental is completed and the return inspection is accepted. S.H.E.D. retains a 10% S.H.E.D. Marketplace Fee from the rental subtotal. Payouts are made to your verified payment account.

6. Cancellation

You must honor confirmed bookings. Cancelling a confirmed booking may result in a fee, a rating impact, and priority loss in search results.
